This comprehensive review summarizes the key surgical challenges and crucial precautions in total knee arthroplasty for patients with advanced hemophilic arthritis to help optimize clinical outcomes.
ABSTRACT
Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is the gold standard treatment for advanced hemophilic arthritis. For such patients, surgical considerations such as abnormal anatomy, prosthesis selection, surgical approach, synovial management, vascular injury, patella treatment, flexion contracture treatment, and simultaneous bilateral TKA surgery should be considered in order to obtain the good clinical outcome.
