Education
Dr. Pan earned his Bachelor of Medicine degree from Beijing Medical University in 1993, followed by a Master’s degree in Orthopedics from the Beijing Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics in 1998. He subsequently advanced his academic foundation by obtaining a Ph.D. in Orthopedics from the Peking University Health Science Center in 2004. To further expand his international clinical perspective, Dr. Pan was awarded a prestigious fellowship by the China Scholarship Council. From 2008 to 2009, he completed a one-year advanced clinical training program in the United Kingdom, studying at the renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre at the University of Oxford and Epsom General Hospital.
Clinical Experience
Dr. Pan began his distinguished clinical career at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, where he dedicated 18 years to the Department of Orthopedics. During this extensive tenure, he progressively advanced through the clinical ranks from Resident and Attending Physician to Associate Chief Physician, acquiring comprehensive surgical training and accumulating profound clinical experience in both orthopedic trauma and hand surgery. In 2011, Dr. Pan transitioned to Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital to assume the critical leadership roles of Deputy Director of Orthopedics and Director of Orthopedic Trauma. Shortly thereafter, in 2012, he was promoted to the esteemed rank of Chief Physician, a testament to his exceptional surgical mastery and sustained clinical excellence.
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Pan possesses extensive surgical expertise in the comprehensive management of complex limb and pelvic-acetabular injuries. He specializes in the treatment of osteoporotic fractures and complex extremity trauma, with a particular focus on advanced limb salvage procedures for severe injuries involving neurovascular compromise or massive soft tissue defects. In the specialized field of hand surgery, his proficiency encompasses the correction of congenital hand anomalies, the acute management of severe hand trauma, and complex late-stage functional reconstruction. Furthermore, Dr. Pan demonstrates exceptional mastery in the treatment of peripheral nerve disorders. His surgical repertoire includes intricate brachial plexus and peripheral nerve repairs, the management of spontaneous nerve palsies and entrapment neuropathies, and advanced functional restoration following devastating nerve injuries.
