Education
Dr. Lin earned his medical degree from Anhui Medical University in 1989. To further advance his clinical and academic foundation, he subsequently pursued postgraduate studies and obtained his master’s degree from Jinan University.
Clinical Experience
Dr. Lin began his clinical career in 1989 within the military healthcare system, dedicating nearly three decades to the specialized treatment of infectious diseases and tuberculosis. He steadily advanced his clinical foundation across several military medical institutions, initially serving at the PLA 86th Hospital and the PLA 262nd Hospital.
From 1996 to 2019, Dr. Lin served a distinguished tenure at the PLA 309th Hospital. Throughout this period, his exceptional clinical acumen and leadership led to his progressive promotion to Chief Physician and Director of the Department of Tuberculosis. In February 2019, he brought his extensive expertise to Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, where he currently serves as a Chief Physician and the Executive Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases.
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Lin possesses profound clinical expertise in the early diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and comprehensive management of long-term fever of unknown origin (FUO), respiratory tract infections, various types of tuberculosis, and systemic infectious diseases. He demonstrates exceptional clinical acumen in managing osteoarticular tuberculosis and other highly complex or refractory cases.
Furthermore, Dr. Lin is highly proficient in advanced respiratory endoscopy. He excels in performing a diverse range of interventional treatments via fiberoptic bronchoscopy, including localized drug administration, laser therapy, cryotherapy, argon plasma coagulation (APC), and airway stent placement.
Research & Awards
Dr. Lin is deeply committed to advancing research in infectious diseases and tuberculosis. As a principal investigator, he currently spearheads five major research projects, including the National Science and Technology Major Project funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
A prolific contributor to medical literature, Dr. Lin has published over 100 academic papers in both domestic and international journals, with his work achieving a peak impact factor of 51.273 in JAMA. Furthermore, he has significantly shaped national clinical standards by participating in the revision of the latest national tuberculosis classifications and diagnostic guidelines, as well as contributing to the formulation of multiple industry standards, expert consensus documents, and clinical pathways.
As a leading authority in his field, Dr. Lin has served as the editor-in-chief for two specialized monographs and co-authored over ten additional textbooks. In recognition of his groundbreaking scientific contributions, he has been honored with numerous prestigious accolades, including the Second Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Second Prize of the PLA Medical Achievement Award.
