Education
Dr. Huang earned his Bachelor of Medicine degree from the Department of Military Medicine at the First Military Medical University (now Southern Medical University) in August 1985. To further elevate his clinical and academic foundation, he subsequently pursued advanced studies and obtained a Master of Medicine degree.
Clinical Experience
Dr. Huang has dedicated his clinical career to the Eighth Medical Center of the Chinese PLA General Hospital (formerly the 309th Hospital of the PLA). He has held key leadership positions within the institution, serving successively as Deputy Director of the Department of Orthopedics and Director of the Division of Joint Surgery at the PLA Orthopedic Center. Additionally, he has served as a distinguished consulting expert and a core member of the expert panel at the Orthopedic Treatment Center of Shijiazhuang Minimally Invasive Surgery Hospital.
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Huang possesses profound clinical expertise in the comprehensive diagnosis and surgical management of joint disorders and sports-related injuries. In the field of minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, he specializes in the repair and anatomical reconstruction of anterior and posterior cruciate ligament (ACL/PCL) injuries, meniscal tears, and rotator cuff injuries. Recognized as a clinical pioneer in China, he spearheaded innovative research on utilizing allograft Achilles tendons for ACL and PCL reconstruction. He also designed specialized arthroscopic guiding instruments, successfully applying them across a high volume of clinical cases.
Furthermore, Dr. Huang demonstrates exceptional surgical proficiency in primary total knee and hip arthroplasty, alongside complex revision surgeries for periprosthetic joint infections. As an active proponent of advanced digital orthopedics, he successfully integrates the ROPA intelligent orthopedic robot for total knee arthroplasty in patients with severe osteoarthritis, significantly optimizing surgical precision and patient safety.
Research & Awards
Dr. Huang is deeply committed to advancing clinical research, with a specialized focus on the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of advanced active osteoarticular tuberculosis. He advocates for single-stage debridement and joint functional reconstruction following effective anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy to preserve patient mobility. Collaborating with leading domestic experts, he co-authored the “Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis of Osteoarticular Tuberculosis and Drug Resistance” and the “Expert Consensus on Single-Stage Joint Arthroplasty for Active Osteoarticular Tuberculosis.” These guidelines have standardized diagnostic protocols and surgical indications for advanced cases, providing critical clinical guidance to significantly reduce disability rates.
Furthermore, Dr. Huang has conducted innovative clinical research on the reconstruction of distal tibial bone defects utilizing 3D-printed anatomical titanium alloy prostheses, actively exploring the application of personalized bone tissue engineering scaffolds in defect management.
In recognition of his scientific contributions, his pioneering research titled “Single-Stage Joint Functional Reconstruction for Advanced Active Osteoarticular Tuberculosis” was awarded the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award by the China Medicine Education Association (CMEA). He has also received two Third Prizes of the PLA Medical Achievement Award for his research on the “Diagnosis and Treatment of Wrisberg Ligament-Type Discoid Meniscus” and “Arthroscopic Meniscal Repair.” Additionally, his “Research on Knee Ligament Reconstruction” earned the Third Prize of the CMEA Science and Technology Award. In 2018, Dr. Huang was honored with the distinguished title of “Outstanding Master’s Supervisor.”
